You can use any container that is heatproof and fireproof.
Tin containers and glass containers (including glasses and jars) will do the job.
Containers can be recycled as many times as you want!
In principle you can use any kind of wax/gel to make container candles but I'd strongly suggest you to go for soy wax (or a mix of soy wax/paraffin). Paraffin alone will shrink too much and the candle will detach from the edges of the container, while gel is worth only with transparent containers.
