These cards have been created in the same spirit as the last bookmarks series ( HERE ): creating without spending too much! Some details on the techniques used to create the background of 'Let's eat cake' and 'Ciao' cards. 'Let's eat cake' card background Upper part : made with the bubble wrap stamping technique. Materials: bubble wrap, white ink and white embossing powder for the bubbles and beige ink for the non-embossed surface. During the last two months I challenged myself to create cards and bookmarks without buying too many crafty tools! It's easy to make nice cards when we buy fancy die cuts, colorful scrap paper, flowers and enamel dots, expensive markers or lovely stamps...  For this project I wanted to rely on my creative side only and realize new pieces mostly with things I already had at home (especially in the kitchen 🤣). I made a minimal investment of less than 30 Euros and bought a box of 24 Stabilo Swano markers, 1 Xcut alphabet die and a  Ranger Glossy accents bottle (small size). Let's start with the bookmarks ! I'd like to spend few words on the first and third bookmark from the left. For the marble background I've used watercolours and a funny technique which relies on the use of saran wrap... Winter  equals dry chapped hands  👐 ! I usually have to go for glycerin-rich, highly hydrating commercial creams otherwise there's no chance I can fix my cracked skin. Besides using my home-made soap, which doesn't contain aggressive ingredients, every night ⭐⭐⭐(well, almost every night 😁) I put on my hands a consistent amount of cream. This usually works very well, but t his year it has been pretty cold and the tap water in my area is particularly hard, so my problems persisted... I frankly hate to use thick and oily products during daytime (I always stain my clothes!!!), that's how I ended up with idea of making a fresh, light and handbag sized lotion. The original lotion recipe is from The Soap Kitchen but I've personalized it with some of my favourite essential oils. This soap was supposed to be something totally different... 😲... anyway, it didn't turn out to be so ugly, did it? 😢 ... the day after...   I had plenty of soda ashes, but I think that this time they came in handy! The top looks foamy and the white and blue curls look like sea waves 🌊🌊🌊 Recipe: Olive oil (pomace)  30% Coconut oil  30% Palm oil (organic)  30% Canola oil  10 % Note that the palm oil I buy from  The Soap Kitchen   'carries Organic Certification and comes from Columbia. It is not produced on land that has been taken from the Rain Forests, nor are there any Orangutangs made homeless. Our suppliers do use 'ethical' methods in their production (we have actually visited the site). Our Columbian suppliers are members of the RSPO (Round Table for Sustainable Production of PalmOil).' I made these bookmarks with a huge amount of love because they are for a special initiative: they will be distributed to hospitalized young patients, their parents and to the hospital personnel taking care of them.  Bookmarks for  Scrap4smile   From left to right: The Polka dots sunflower, butterfly tree, Lotus, tartan alphabet, Japanese holidays, balloons 

I had a very late request for Xmas candles 😓 ⏳⌚ 😓 , but the good thing is that I had been given 100% of freedom on the choice of colors, decorations, fragrance, container 😃🎉🎇 This year, I've been so into glass recycling that I've been using jam jars for almost all my container candles. I particularly love the jars from the French brand La Bonne Maman ( see HERE ) because they are big , easy to work with (you don't have to struggle to stick the wick holder to the bottom of the container) and original ! They have a screwable lid that helps to preserve the candle fragrance and protect the decorations on top. Last, but not least, they can be washed in the dishwasher and you can recycle them as many times as you want.
