PANNA COTTA candles: mon coup de coeur!

Entirely made of wax (fruit decorations too)!   No other words needed: I simply love them!!!  They are my best piece ever!

'Mighty spice' and 'Wild bush'

I'm not a pro photographer but I like to take pictures of my plants!  I've just used an old digital camera and played a bit with Windows 10 photo manager... Here you have today's pics: ' Mighty spice ' and  ' Wild bush '

From cuttings to real plants!

The most exciting part of an experiment are the results (in real life is not always like that ;-) ) ...and here you have the final outcome of my post  Make your basil plants live forever From cuttings... ...to plants!

Recycling candles

Melt candle leftovers, filter the melted wax with gauze and pour it again!  Re-melting is not my favourite way to prepare a candle but it is a way to avoid wasting wax!

Make your BASIL plants live forever?

...In a way you can! I'll try to kept it as simple as possible (not an easy task being a plant biologist myself!), but I can tell you that with a small trick you can have fresh basil all over the year ( NO growth hormones needed )!!! Couple of months ago I posted pics of my balcony-based garden with my beloved sweet basil (I'm not overdoing with compliments, the variety of basil I love most is the sweet basil indeed).  All plants grew, survived my absence during holidays (they have experienced a pretty prolonged drought this year) and set new leaves and incredibly tiny fruits (tomatoes and strawberries)...  Expectedly, but still unfortunately, after a while (also because they are confined in relatively small pots, with poor or no fertilization) they started senescing (ageing). I know my basil will not live forever in such a pot and very likely it won't survive the cold winter outside.... but I have no space to bring it inside given its current size!!! Here ...

New stocks!

New stocks for my lavender sachets straightaway from the south of France! Essential oils are lavender (easy guess!) and mandarin.

Lip balm at the sea!

With the restriction of not keeping it under the direct sun light, I can tell you that my lip balm stays solid enough so that you can use it at the beach either!

Green Chickpea Salad (Foto e fornelli)

A nice recipe from Foto e Fornelli  I tried it with a small variant: feta cheese dices instead of grated zucchini....EXCELLENT! https://www.facebook.com/233046550113933/photos/a.233731863378735.58152.233046550113933/849854515099797/?type=1&theater

OMG OMG it's soooo hot this week

Vitamin face mist from Yves Rocher: amazing for these incredibly hot days!  I'm actually spraying it all over the body to have a refreshing and delicately scented mist as an alternative to simple water.

Must-have herbs/plants in your kitchen

It's 4 years now that every spring I try to create my  apartment-compatible garden ! I sow seeds I've collected the previous year or I transplant small plants that I've bought in the supermarket. It requires time (that I don't always have), will and a bit of physical efforts but the reward is incredible . Sweet basil : I'm Italian and I use sweet basil in many recipes. Especially during summer time you can use it with tomatoes (which I'm growing too), mozzarella, beef carpaccio and in many other ways to prepare quick but tasty plates. Sweet basil Cherry tomatoes Anise basil : a weird but extremely interesting variant that gets along with grilled swordfish and tuna fish. Noteworthy the combination with strawberries (the plant I have, doesn't set many fruits but the few ones are amazingly sweet), red wine and sugar. Anise basil Strawberry plant Rosemary and Thyme : Any BBQed meat and (almost) any fi...
